Trauma
WHAT IS IT?
Trauma is the emotional response to deeply distressing or disturbing experiences. It may stem from events such as abuse, accidents, loss, or witnessing violence. Trauma can disrupt sleep, relationships, and your sense of safety in the world, often leaving you feeling stuck or disconnected from yourself and others. You might struggle with flashbacks, nightmares, or intense emotions that seem out of your control.
HOW THERAPY HELPS
Therapy provides a safe, supportive space to process traumatic experiences at your own pace. Through approaches like EMDR and CBT, we’ll begin to make sense of what happened, reduce the emotional intensity of past experiences, and rebuild a sense of safety. Over time, therapy helps you regain control over your story rather than feeling trapped by it.
PRACTICAL AND EMOTIONAL BENEFITS
Over time, trauma therapy can lead to significant shifts in both your emotional well-being and daily functioning. You may sleep better, feel less anxious, and begin to regain confidence in your ability to handle life’s challenges. Relationships often improve as you become more grounded and less reactive. Emotionally, therapy can bring a renewed sense of hope, empowerment, and connection.
